Algarve Biggest Crib Christmas
Crib Christmas or Presépio de Natal as the portuguese call, is very common in Portugal, you will find in the Christmas season all over the country, Crib Christmas with various sizes and also with artificial figures or with real persons.
One of the very nice ones is in Vila Real the St António in Algarve, is also known as the Giant Crib Christmas, you can visit in the Christmas season.
This Crib Christmas has 4500 figures, 20 tones of sand, 4 tones of dusty stone, 2500 kilos of cork and 160 meters of moss. It’s necessary round about 40 days of work and 2500 hours. The area is 220 meters square and is exhibit in the cultural center of António Aleixo.
There is so much effort and you can see it in the details of the technical support of the Crib Christmas regarding the lakes, small houses and all the scenic effects.
The payment for visit the exhibit is a symbolic payment and reverse all in favor of a portuguese institute which support kids from the ages of 0 to 18 years old.
